Good Job! Media – Spring 2016

Some issues with Mayoiga resulted in us changing projects. A slightly different team is now doing Space Patrol Luluco instead.

Next up is Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge. Looks like a pretty comfortable show. Should be a pretty chill ride.

And last, but not least, is Haifuri. We’ll be doing this project as another joint with Vivid. We’re glad to work with them again, and hope that more project opportunities arise in the future, too.

With Spring’s (current) picks out of the way, we’ll clear up some lingering matters.

Firstly, Erased is making steady progress toward completion, and its chief stalling member is not picking up any new shows for the Spring season. Expect significant progress towards completing this during Spring, along with BDs at a later date.

Same goes for Akagami. Its editor is a very busy person and is making time when he can to work on it. That said, he has allowed for deadlines to be set, and failing to meet those means that an editor change occurs and I push the project forward myself.

I’ll be looking to move some of GJM’s BD backlog forward this season, if possible, as well as attempting to release an unannounced, ORIGINAL, BD project by the end of the season, if circumstances allow for it.

That’s all for now. Feel free to leave feedback and hold discussions in the comments, but the usual site rules do apply. Cleanups will happen if you get too rowdy, so stay civil.

  1. Keep up the good work! I’m not sure if I’m alone here, but maybe fewer projects could help keeping everything in order timewise.

    • Two to three people are stalling the two delayed shows.

      That doesn’t stop nearly 20 others picking up and working on new projects.

      • Yay, new season means new show, thanks for picking up Mayoiga. It’s better to wrap up any unfinished project before picking up too many show to work on. I don’t want to see the previous unfortunate event that happen somewhere before popping up here. Be wary that even one small problem can drag the whole team down.
        So far GJM is my one my favorite fansub team and I’m hoping to see your webpage is always on my top favorite bookmark tab :3

  9. Good choice with Mayoiga, was hoping GJM would do it. Hpe your other choices will be either Hai-furi, Bungou Stray Dogs or Joker Game. Looking forward to seeing the other 2 picks and original BD project.

    I thought I’d start watching something from Spring 2016, Mayoiga being one of them.

  16. I (sadly) may have to go with HS for Mayoiga because it seems like the type of show you want to watch as soon as it comes out to take part in early discussion. Post-KLK /a/ does not wait for better subs, even though I myself would like to. Either way, definitely looking forward to seeing what the other two picks are.

      • I fee disappointed about it. I think Mayoiga is interesting anime because its look like mystery anime such Another.

        • It’s likely gonna suck worse than Glasslip though, which is a scary concept. There’s nothing selling it yet. At least Another had that going on.

  23. Luluco…まじで？ Well, ugh. I really tried watching the first episode and facepalm’d so hard my head still hurts. Let’s forget about the sub quality – I won’t expect something too useful from HS releases but it was sufficient to get an impression of the show. It is, well, nothing I will watch but that’s just personal taste, I guess. Good luck with that project,

    That said I’ll wait for the undisclosed stuff and hope it will be more to my liking. Oh, while I am at it, let me honestly thank you guys for doing both AoKana and Haruchika last season. Those were great shows and I had a lot of fun watching them. Keep up the good work.

      Sorry Luluco isn’t to your liking, but ultimately we weren’t getting on with Mayoiga, which prompted the change of plans to something a different group of us wanted to do.

      I’m sure you’ll like at least one of the two other picks we have yet to announce, though.

    Also thanks for picking up the Trigger short. Still disappointed by Mayoiga being dropped though. Hope the other 2 releases interest me as well.

    • We’re looking into this already. It’s 2 hours long though, so no promises will be made on whether we do it or not.

      • Okay thanks, well at least you’re considering it. Yeah 2 hours is quite long, even if it takes a long time for release it would be nice if GJM did it as most fansub groups don’t do films so normally stuck with the original TL.

A request, can you guys do Hundred and or Macross Delta or Seisen Cerberus, so Far I can confirm that there’s only certain sub groups doing Macross Delta (just can’t remember who but I know FFF isn’t doing any of these.) Then again Chihiro is doing a joint with Doki for Macross Delta so I mean I guess not that one too much. But these or nothing more then requests, look forward to more of GJM’s work.

  37. Honestly kinda glad y’all dropped Mayoiga. I don’t have high hopes for it to be honest. Excited about Luluco and Tanaka-kun though, and curious to know what your third pick’ll be. Y’all got good tastes, GJM. Keep up the awesome work.

    Great picks guys, all three look interesting. Was that Sukima Switch in the Tanaka-kun PV? It sounded a bit like them, but I’m not sure.

Sad to hear about Mayoiga, it’s one of my definite plans for this season and I was really looking forward to your work, only to see it replaced by a series I have no interest in at all and no other groups seem to be working on it yet. Will most likely be watching the other two series, though, so thank you for these!

    I just have a question why has vivid not really be doing anything the last 3 seasons, lack of manpower?

    • 3 out of the 4 founding members of Vivid have retired from fansubbing and at this point it’s basically just me and anyone generous enough to assist me. So yeah.
