4. I haven’t watched any of the Aniplex version of this. Would you post some comparisons? I want to see how bad they are.

5. The way you make Emma sound is way, way overdone. Show some moderation.

   • Correction, the way I started doing her was way overdone and was toned back. This is tame.

     I spoke to manga readers before I committed, they liked the added characterization that Viz and Aniplex left out, not just for her, but for many other characters.

     • You spoke to some manga readers from your own personal bubble. Much like it is the case with honorifics, the audio gives you all the characterization you need. Don’t be overbearing.

       • There’s always the shitsubs from Aniplex if you don’t like it.

         I’m the editor, it’s my decision, and my TLC also agreed they needed more flavor.

         Don’t be a prick. Either watch it and accept it, watch a mistranslation, or don’t watch at all.

         Or the age-old adage: Learn Japanese.

         • You sound somewhat irate. It is sad to see you are not open to discussion and external feedback but instead retreat to authority and your own fitler bubble.

           I will still let you know that when you sometimes argue that information can be gained from the audio, but then go on to ignore said argument arbitrarily, you defeat yourself. You make yourself look like you are not arguing from experience and deliberation, but inconsistent whims and flimsiness.

         • You’re calling this a defeat, but you argued from an already-dead point of view. You immediately conceded that the characterization is there in the audio, so therefore my decision is correct, as I’m reflecting that in the subtitles, as intended.

           Now, you can continue to dig that grave all you like but ultimately it’s your choice to watch or not, but if I get bored of this argument I’m just gonna ban you because your attitude from post one was one of gross condescension. You can’t talk about not wanting to discuss things when your first post reeks of “you’re wrong, fix it”.

           Now get over it or piss off. I have better things to do than waste my energy on you. I’m giving you more time than I give most, feel grateful for that.
