The process was very simple. I watched the first two episodes, liked the anime but hated the official subs, went to read the entire manga, decided that I really want to translate this so that people don’t have to suffer through the Funimation mistranslations, and poked around to see if we have any available staff left this season to form a team. And you know, since no one can resist a cute translator wanting to translate a good anime that has bad official subs, I managed to convince people \o/
