Hello, everyone! We hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season.
To address the elephant in the room first: our work on backlog projects continues, with movement on Kaguya S2 (as well as the OVA and S3 PV!), 22/7, Aquatope, and Talentless Nana. With the help of the staff who are still free, we’ll continue making progress on these shows, and slowly but surely finish them up. We thank you for your patience with these endeavors.
We’re not just here to talk about older projects though. Thanks to an influx of new staff (and some existing ones getting themselves some free time), we’ve been able to assemble a team for a Winter 2022 show! That show is Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru, also known by its manga’s officially-localized title “My Dress-up Darling”. Winter 2022 as a whole was rather unappealing, but this show stood out to many of our members. We also learned that the official anime localization will likely be handled by Aniplex, which is all the more reason to take this project on.
Speaking of new staff, we’d like to introduce them to you! Please give a warm welcome to simonovovka, Moelancholy, Setsugen no ao, and Angrevol! Between them, they bolster both our encoding and typesetting rosters and we hope you’ll enjoy the exceptional quality of their work on their respective projects.
We’re also, as always, looking for more friends to join us here at GJM. We’re currently searching for additional Translators/TLCs, Timers, Editors, and Typesetters to assist both with existing and future projects. You can reach out to us through Discord to learn more. As mentioned in previous news posts, our Typesetting Training Program remains open, and you can see some information about that right HERE. If this interests you, we urge you to check it out.
Well, that’s about all we have time for here. The future looks brighter here at GJM and we hope to bring you more releases through 2022 and beyond, both old and new. Thank you for continuing to support us, and see you soon!
MAN you guys have gotten predictable. Aniplex as always. Also, I REALLY hope you’ll be in a good position for Bookworm and Kaguya-sama’s third seasons, since they air next season (Spring).
Yeah, we’ve planned this around that somewhat with the staffing choices. Things should work out fine based on current expectations.
Good luck
I am really sad not reading Hitoribocchi in the list of projects you are still working on :(
Still happening, just not moving actively right now. After Kaguya’s backlog, it’ll get some attention.
Yikes. Means its never getting finished.
I’m glad you guys are picking this up, but I hope we don’t have to wait til the end of the year for you guys to release the final episode or something.
Thanks for picking this up!
I wonder why you pick up new projects when your old ones are not completed yet? Not trying to complain. Just asking out of curiosity as I am new here.
Because the people working on the old projects are still working on the old projects, and this one is done by other people, who don’t have anything else they’re working on.
We have enough staff members that some people are just bored and wanted to pick up something new, while older projects are stuck at people who don’t have as much time, but are slowly getting through them.
I was hoping you’d pick up something this season. Though admittedly, this wasn’t the one I was looking for, this is now on my to-watch list.
Thanks for your work!
What about the Planetarian and Orange movies?
