Backlog Project Updates

Following our Summer 2023 announcement, we’re also sorry to announce that due to various staffing issues, the following shows are now dropped:
– Uma Musume (which shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering there has been no progress for literal years);
– Virtual-san (which is truly a shame, as the show is nearly complete and fully translated, but our current staff isn’t well-versed in Vtubers enough to be able to edit and TLC the scripts);
– Yakusoku no Neverland S2 (as the staff insists that S2 doesn’t exist and everyone should read the manga instead).

Everything else you can see on the sidebar will be completed at some point. Our highest priority right now is finishing Mercury and Kaguya.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (TV) – Episode 03

Yes, these are TV/Web encodes still. We’ll be attempting to chase up our TV releases as we finish each with the appropriate BD volume including extras we feel are worth doing. Right now though, our priority is to get episodes out of the door with our usual GJM seal of quality. BDs will likely come when we’re more rooted into the workflow of Uma Musume once again. No promises here yet.

Thanks for your patience with this project. As always, GJM finishes its shows, even if it sometimes takes a minute or two.

Hey guys, Fomal here. For this release, we switched our audio source as Crunchyroll’s source was full of really bad mixing and peaking. Hopefully, it’ll be easier to watch.

In the meantime, I have some translation notes to share. This show is obviously very intensive on horseracing and horse terminology, and there are allusions in real Japanese horseracing all over the place, but today I wanted to address the school motto Symboli Rudolf comments about during the episode. More after the break.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (TV) – Episode 01

Hey, guys. Fomal here. I’m super excited to be doing this show, and I’ve been hyping up everyone else for three months straight now. I’ve got a bunch of dumb horseracing facts that I’ll drop here later as well as some TL notes about the show. What started as a sort of meme like “lol look at the horsegirls” is quickly becoming a genuine enjoyment for me. Everyone else has agreed to put up with my shenanigans, and for that, I’m very grateful.
